Living Life in a Fish Bowl!

Gloria’s take on life.

Building 429

Ever had one of those experiences where you feel young and alive and then old and exhausted all in a matter of a few minutes?

Curt and I do spur of the moment things hardly ever.  Mainly because our schedules are to full.  Also though, because he is very much a  planner.

I, on the other hand, used to be way spontaneous. Ah but alas, I find myself having gone over to the ‘other’ side.  Just how long I have been there I don’t even want to know.  I am sure that having so many ‘irons’ in the fire and various things that have to be done — has put a kabash on most spontaneous attempts.

Well, today at lunch we discussed going to the Building 429 concert tonight.  Nothing definite, we would wait and see what time I got off work and how we were feeling by then.  I really didn’t think we would go, because I knew we were both very tired.

I got off work and we actually decided to go for it.  This is as close as we get to spontaneity.  LOL

Not real sure how to get there,  if we would get there on time, or if there would be any seating available by the time we got there.  Curt only made one wrong turn 😉  we did get there on time, we found a place to sit (in the back with plenty of space), and the excitement in the room was contagious.

Thus the feeling of young and alive.  Took me back to all those concerts I went to in MN.  Hmm, but the old and exhausted soon followed.  As the concert began everyone started to stand up.  Ohhhh, ‘sigh and groan’.  Don’t they realize that if no one stood up then everyone could see??  Once someone in front of you stands then you have to stand and … oh I’ve turned into an “old” person.   Which of course reminded me that in my, dare I say, ‘younger days’ I was one of those who went down front and left with barely a whisper of a voice.  Ahhh, good times!!!!

Now my brain absolutely loved the concert.  Building 429 was GREAT!!  I plan to go out and buy some of their cd’s.  My body, on the other hand, was feeling it’s age.  Maybe I should say screaming its age.  Young and alive — old and exhausted — both in one night.

Here is a video of ‘Glory defined’  — watch it if you have time –and if you like Christian rock.  As the song says “The best is yet to come” and “we have hope for tomorrow” and “never a moment without Your presence.”

til next time
