Living Life in a Fish Bowl!

Gloria’s take on life.

saturday’s song

“Count your blessings – name them one by one. Count your blessings see what God has done…”

“Bless the Lord, O my soul,
And all that is within me, bless His holy name.
Bless the Lord, O my soul,
And forget none of His benefits;” (Psalm 103:1-2)

David started out with praise. Then in verse 2 he reminds his soul (will, mind, emotions) to not forget all of God’s benefits. God has done great things!

Take a look at verse 12. When we come to Him with a repentant heart, look what happens. “As far as the east is from the west, So far has He removed our transgressions from us.”

How far is that? Well, when you are heading east, you will never see west. Yet, how often we continue to beat ourselves up over mistakes in the past. Accept the forgiveness that God offers.

“Depart from evil and do good.” Psalm 34:14

David ends the Psalm the same way he begins it with “Bless the Lord, O my soul!”

“….For He has done great things, He has done great things, He has done great things bless His holy name.”

Let’s follow David’s example and take some time today to give God praise for all that He has done, is doing and will do.

Counting my blessings,

til next time
