Living Life in a Fish Bowl!

Gloria’s take on life.

green pastures/quiet waters

“He makes me lie down in green pastures. He leads me beside quiet waters. He restores my soul.” (Psalm 23:2-3a)
Green pastures, quiet waters and restoring my soul all speak of rest and peace to me.

still waters

It is not God’s desire that we burn out or rust out. He wants us to finish strong. To say with Paul, “I have fought the good fight, I have finished the course, I have kept the faith;” (2 Timothy 4:7 NASB)
I believe rest and peace go together with trust. Resting in God, having peace in the midst of whatever we face is possible when wetrust God completely.

Trust that:

  • God is in control
  • it will work out for good
  • you don’t have to force things to happen
  • God’s timing is right
  • God controls the outcome
  • God is for you
  • God will make a way
  • God loves you!
If you are lacking in peace or rest I encourage you to spend time today in prayer asking God to restore your soul (will, mind and emotions.)
Then take some time to meditate on these verses from Psalm 23

 The Lord is my shepherd,
I shall not want.
He makes me lie down in green pastures;

He leads me beside quiet waters.
 He restores my soul;
He guides me in the paths of righteousness
For His name’s sake.

Even though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death,
I fear no evil, for You are with me;
Your rod and Your staff, they comfort me.
You prepare a table before me in the presence of my enemies;
You have anointed my head with oil;
My cup overflows.
Surely goodness and lovingkindness will follow me all the days of my life,
And I will dwell in the house of the Lord forever.

Resting in Jesus!
Til next time
