Living Life in a Fish Bowl!

Gloria’s take on life.

how do you deal with people?

People – unless you are a hermit, you will deal with people. God’s Word has much to say about how we interact with people. Today we will look at two verses.

“Let all bitterness and wrath and anger and clamor and slander be put away from you, along with all malice. Be kind to one another, tender-hearted, forgiving each other, just as God in Christ also has forgiven you.”
Ephesians 4:31-32 (NASB)

“tender-hearted” – what it isn’t- The opposite of tender-hearted is hard-hearted.

Hard-hearted is:
being unteachable and always right
using your words to tear down
comparing your wrongs against someone else and thinking “theirs is worse”
seeming to be on the defense often
needing to control
focusing on the faults of others while minimizing your own faults
waiting for the other person to apologize
thinking your needs are more important
refusing to forgive or refusing to ask for forgiveness
playing the blame game
holding a grudge
demanding others change…

“tender-hearted” what it is–

To have a tender heart is to:
love people – not just the loveable ones
invest in others
focus on how Jesus would handle it
be teachable
see the good in others
walk in love
be empathetic
be kind

If your life looks more like the first list, please take time to talk with God and ask Him to forgive you and help you to develop a tender heart. He will.

Today I challenge you to let your tender heart shine through. I truly believe God’s love softens hard hearts and God uses us to reveal His love.

Til next time,
