Living Life in a Fish Bowl!

Gloria’s take on life.

thoughts

As a child, I can remember my daddy telling me to guard my thoughts.  What I dwell on will show up in what I do.   Then there was the saying “garbage in – garbage out”  that holds great truth.

What do you dwell on?

Colossians 3:16
Let the word of Christ richly dwell within you, with all wisdom teaching and admonishing one another with psalms and hymns and spiritual songs, singing with thankfulness in your hearts to God.

Let the Word of Christ richly dwell in you — memorization, reading, meditating are three great ways to accomplish this.

The next part has to do with one another – teaching and admonishing (warn) – This is one reason to go to church. Often I hear people say “Pastor was speaking right to me” or “How did he know?” God uses the message to speak to each of us in different ways. We need each other.

It also is a great reminder to talk about the things of God when you get together with friends.

Singing with thankfulness – another great reason to go to church. God inhabits the praises His people. There is something powerful about gathering together to praise. However, worship and thankfulness should also be a regular part of every day. Is there a song in your heart today?

Here is mine (at the moment – it changes often)
“I love You Lord and I left my voice to worship You – Oh my soul rejoice. Take joy my King in what You hear. May it be a sweet sweet sound in Your ear.”

praising Jesus as I go through my day — what about you?

til next time
