Living Life in a Fish Bowl!

Gloria’s take on life.

betrayal

Holy Week
The Lord’s Supper

It wasn’t just any ordinary meal.

It is here that Jesus speaks of the upcoming betrayal.

“And as they were reclining at table and eating, Jesus said, “Truly, I say to you, one of you will betray me, one who is eating with me.” Mark 14:18 ESV

Jesus understands betrayal.

Jesus knew who it was and yet did not treat him in such a way so that others knew. (Mark 14:19 “They began to be sorrowful and to say to him one after another, “Is it I?”)

Truly this wasn’t an ordinary meal. This one would be remembered through the ages.

“And he took bread, and when he had given thanks, he broke it and gave it to them, saying, “This is my body, which is given for you. Do this in remembrance of me.” And likewise the cup after they had eaten, saying, “This cup that is poured out for you is the new covenant in my blood.” Luke 22:19-20 ESV
